Late afternoon gratitude

Image from http://niteshok.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/storm11.jpg.
At the end of an afternoon that has been inexplicably stormy (both literally and metphorically) I'm making an effort to feel grateful for:

* A 15 minute walk in the pram in between rain and thunder. An uphill, blood thumping, nose warming walk.

* Returning to the house with renewed patience and enthusiasm, the quick whizz-around-put-the-toys-away that followed, and the relief of everything being tidy-ish that followed that.

* The deliciousness of chicken pot-roasting in our absence, in time for us all to eat dinner together in an hour.

* Playschool!

That walk sounds like just what I need, but it's been 48 hours non stop rain here, AND little one and I are both battling awful colds. We will hit those hills are soon as we're well again.

I love it when everything is tidy! It's something I never used to notice before I had kids and now I really cherish the 5 minutes of tidiness I get every time after I clean up :)

It sounds completely idyllic. Roast chicken and brisk walk.

It's amazing how a short stint outside can clear away the cobwebs so quickly.

Have a great weekend! x

There comes a point in any solid-rain week where you just have to take whatever moment of a break in the weather and grab it! Good for you for being ready enough to take it and avoid the storm.

That walk sounds like the perfect recharger! Just what I need, except the rain here has been relentless! x
